What is your name?
Alice
What is your job title?
Senior Hair Stylist
How long have you been hairdressing?
I have been working in the hairdressing industry since I was 14, so I’ve now been in the industry for around 15 years. I’ve been qualified for 12 years and have continued to develop my skills and experience throughout my career. Hairdressing has always been a huge passion of mine, and I feel very lucky to have built a career doing something I genuinely love. I joined Gavin Ashley in August 2026.
What do you love about hairdressing?
One of my favourite things about hairdressing is meeting new people and hearing all the different stories and experiences that every client brings with them. I love that no two days or clients are ever the same.
What are your favourite hair styles/colours?
I particularly love creating beautiful blonde colours and there’s nothing better than finishing a colour with a big, bouncy blow dry! I also really enjoy creating beautiful hair ups for those special occasions.
Which celebrity’s hair would you like to get your hands on and why?
I would love to work on Margot Robbie’s hair. She consistently has effortlessly beautiful, soft blonde tones that look healthy and expensive, which I really admire. I’d love the opportunity to enhance her colour and create the glossy, bouncy finishes she’s known for.
Who or what inspires you?
My biggest inspiration for becoming a hairdresser came from growing up watching my two Aunties. They were both incredibly hardworking and I loved watching them create beautiful hairstyles and transform their clients’ hair. Seeing their passion for what they did really inspired me to follow the same path.
What would your desert island 3 essential hair care items be?
This is a difficult one but it would have to be my beloved Denman D81M brush with mixed bristles, Kerastase gloss absolu hydra glaze shampoo, conditioner and crème hydra glaze mask treatment.
What are your hobbies?
I love reading and recently a friend and I started our own book club, so I’m always trying to find time to squeeze in as many books as possible!
I’m also a first time Mum so life outside of the Salon is very much centred around my little one. When I do get some free time, you’ll usually find me with a book in hand.
What is your ultimate ambition?
My ultimate ambition would be to move into hairdressing education and teaching. I’ve always had a real passion for helping and teaching other Hairdressers, particularly those who are just starting out in the industry. I love sharing knowledge, helping people build their confidence and watching them develop their skills.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
